IQNA – A Lebanese Quran expert said the Islamic Revolution is rooted in Quranic teachings and derived from the divine revelations of the word of God.

Lebanese Quran expert Sheikh Talal al-Mismar served as a member of the panel of judges in the field of Tajweed in Iran’s 41st International Holy Quran Competition.

Sheikh Talal al-Mismar, who served as a member of the panel of judges in the field of Tajweed in Iran’s 41st International Holy Quran Competition, told IQNA that holding these competitions is one of the successes and achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“I thank the organizers of this unique and unparalleled competition, which is a special spiritual gathering in the world.”

The distinctive feature of the competition this year was that it took place near the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), giving it a unique and fresh aspect, he said, adding that the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization of Iran has consistently held these competitions in an exceptional and excellent manner.

“Hosting these competitions is one of the successes and achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The blessed Islamic Revolution of Iran, led by Imam Khomeini, has been a Quranic revolution from the start and has remained so throughout the years,” he stated.

“The Islamic Revolution has grown greater and more magnificent over time. We observe that the officials of this blessed republic are deeply committed to these competitions every year, adding unique features to them. The spirit of the Islamic Revolution is the spirit of the Quran and its teachings, and its actions are Quranic, which is why we see that the competitions serve the Quranic goals of the Islamic Revolution.”

Highlighting the role of such Quranic events in promoting religious and moral values, Sheikh al-Mismar said, “Today, we see that the forces of evil, led by the great Satan, the United States as described by Imam Khomeini, are rampant across the world, aiming to spread corruption among young Muslims and believers to distance them from their faith. On the other hand, there are those who follow the path of the Quran to defend Islam and to educate young people with Islamic, Quranic, and ethical values and traditions.

“I seize this opportunity to convey a message to the youth of Iran and the world: do not abandon the Quran but make it your companion. They should read and understand the Quran, reflect on it, and apply its teachings in their lives. They should make the Quran a model for their lives, and these competitions help to strengthen this aspect. Therefore, I urge young Muslims to work diligently and strive to participate in these competitions in the future editions.”

Asked about the judging process and its criteria in Quran competitions, he said, “Competitions in different countries are held with different rules. This discrepancy can cause problems for some participants, and from this platform, I call for the unification of the criteria and rules for Quranic competitions across all Islamic countries.”
